HOW TO APPLY
Our Lower Grades is a Gifted and Talented program. Visit our Lower Grades academics webpage to learn about our curriculum or watch a virtual tour.
Kindergarten - Applicants are assessed by their pre-K teacher. Families are notified by their child's school whether their child has been recommended to apply to G&T programs. Eligible siblings of current NEST+m students have priority for available seats.
Grades 1-4 - The applicant's grades are considered and families will be notified by the child's current school whether the child is eligible to apply to G&T programs. Eligibility is based on report card grades. For more information on eligibility please visit schools.nyc.gov/GT.
Eligible siblings have priority for available seats.
Steps to apply:
- Set up your MySchools account. You will need a sign up code from your child's Guidance Counselor or contact a Family Welcome Center representative.
- NEST+m is listed in MySchools as "New Explorations Into Science, Technology & Math". Our school code is 01M539.
- You can rank NEST+m as one of your 12 program choices on the Kindergarten application in MySchools.
- There is no test for K-4 admissions.
NEW TO NYC DOE
If you are new to NYC or in private school, you must contact a Family Welcome Center to find out about enrolling your student in public school. The representative can help you set up your MySchools account.
